Okay, here goes)<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The guy who wrote this song, &#8220;Their Hearts Were Full of Spring,&#8221; performed here on the Andy Williams Show by the Beach Boys in 1965,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uLfhvSvBTX8\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>also wrote this song, which he performs here;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/kLUYf6cekMA\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Wikipedia: Bobby Troup\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bobby_Troup\" target=\"_blank\">Bobby Troup<\/a>. Love ditched the love story in the original lyrics and cranked out an ode to James Dean in keeping with the &#8220;concept&#8221; of the album, cars and crashes. Love&#8217;s lyrics aren&#8217;t very good and kudos to Brian Wilson and the boys for reverting to the original a couple of years later for their TV performance.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Their Hearts Were Full of Spring&#8221; was recorded in 1960 by <a title=\"Vocal Groups: The Four Freshmen\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vocalgroup.org\/inductees\/the_four_freshman.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Four Freshmen<\/a>, a group often cited by Brian Wilson as a key influence. Here it is;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/djDm2JVMm9Y\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>After listening to this rendition, which is superior to the Beach Boys versions, you might want to learn a little more about The Four Freshmen. You should, because they along with the Mills Brothers were the innovators of vocal harmony for the age. I recommend this <a title=\"The Four Freshmen on Youtube\" href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/ETo_XFEGl24\" target=\"_blank\">40-odd minute compilation<\/a> as a starting place. Tip: Brian Wilson modeled his falsetto on Bob Flanigan.
